About MINE Score
MINE is a echocardiographic classification of severity of myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) in dogs.
MINE score is based on 4 echocardiographic variables:
- The left atrium‐to‐aorta ratio (LA/Ao), obtained from the right parasternal short‐axis view
- The left ventricular end‐diastolic diameter normalized for body weight (LVIDDn), measured on the M‐mode obtained from the right parasternal short‐axis view
- The left ventricular fractional shortening (FS), measured on the M‐mode obtained from the right parasternal short‐axis view
- The E‐wave transmitral peak velocity (E‐vel), obtained with the pulsed‐wave Doppler from the left apical 4‐chamber view
