About Cushings Prediction Tool
Designed to be used in practice to directly aid veterinarians in the diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome in dogs. The tool was developed using advanced statistical methods and is made up of 10 ‘predictive’ factors for Cushing’s syndrome. The tool reports the probability of an individual dog having Cushing’s, based on these factors.
When using the tool for a 9 year old, female-neutered, crossbreed dog presenting only with polydipsia, ALKP not elevated and USG not dilute, the dog would have a score of -3, indicating a 15% likelihood of having Cushing’s.
