USB Disk

Welcome and thank you for choosing this application.

The first thing you will probably want to do is transfer files from your computer to this application. To do that, see the "Transfer files" section. Then, you might want to read the "Viewing files" section to get some information on how to view files. The "Managing files" section explains advanced topics, as file moving, which are not essential to using this application.

Note that you need an internet connection to view this video. This video can also be viewed on YouTube.

This will help you establish a USB connection between your computer and your . Once this connection is established, you will be able to transfer files from one device to an other. Note that you will only be able access the top level folder of your .

If you're using macOS Catalina or later:

• On your computer, open a Finder window.
• Connect your to your computer using a USB cable.
• Select your in the left part of the Finder window.
• Click the Files tab.
• Click the triangle next to "USB Disk".
• Drag and drop files on and from the list under "USB Disk".

If you're using macOS Mojave (or earlier) or a Windows PC:

• On you computer, open the iTunes application.
• Connect your to your computer using a USB cable.
• If the page for your does not open automatically, check the buttons located on the top of the screen. In the latest version of iTunes, the button to select your device is the last one on the left under the playback controls.
  On older versions of iTunes, look under the search box. If you see a "Library" button, press it. Then, if you see a "Devices" button, press it then choose your in the list that appears.
  On even older version of iTunes, these buttons will not appear. Instead select your in the "Device" list displayed on the left.
• Select "File Sharing" in the left sidebar. If you do not see it (you are using an older version of iTunes), select the "Apps" tab and scroll to the bottom of the page (there are two lists of app on that page, make sure to scroll to the second one).
• Select "USB Disk" in the "Apps" list located in the "File Sharing" section.
• You can now use the "Add" and "Save to" buttons to transfer files over USB.
• Alternatively you can drag and drop files on and from the "Documents" list.

Note that USB file transfers is not the only way to get documents into this application. Other applications on your will let you send files to this application. For example, you can send your email attachments from the Mail application to this application.

To view a file which you transferred to this application, you have to select it in the File List. It will then appear in a Detail View.

When you scroll down the content of a Detail View, all controls related to it will disappear. To make them reappear, tap the top of the screen or scroll up rapidly.

You can navigate a page up or down in the opened document by tapping at the top or at the bottom of the detail view.

At the bottom of the Detail View, there are buttons to quickly change the file you are viewing.

Selecting, editing and sending

On top of a File List, you see an "Edit" button. Press it to go into Edit Mode. In this mode, pressing a file will select or unselect it. Once you have selected the files you want, you can use one of the buttons at the bottom of the File List.

There is a button to copy the files to the clipboard, a button to cut the files and place them in the clipboard, a button to delete the files and a button to send the files by email.

In Edit Mode, an arrow appears next to every file. Press this arrow to go to the File Detail view. This view shows details about a file, and also lets you rename it.

When a File List is not in Edit Mode, keeping your finger pressed on a file will make a menu appear. Use this menu to quickly access the File Detail view, or to send a file to another application.

Creating and pasting

While a File List is in Edit Mode, a plus button is visible in the top left corner of the screen. Use this button to create a new folder or a new file.

When a File List is not in Edit Mode, these are the buttons on the bottom of the screen.

The first one opens up the application settings. The second one will let you paste any files currently in the clipboard (note that it displays the number of items currently in the clipboard). The third one will let you reload the File List.
