Spotter Network Location Reporting
Spotter Network members can use RadarScope to automatically report their location. To use this feature, you must first log into your Spotter Network account in the app settings (Settings > General > Accounts > Spotter Network). Once logged in, you can toggle location reporting and related settings by tapping "Start Reporting Location" in the Spotter Network account view, or via a long press on the toolbar location button. The menu under these buttons includes the following options:
Always
When selected, RadarScope will report your location to Spotter Network even when the app is in the background. When using this option, RadarScope receives continuous location updates from iOS and reports the location to Spotter Network every 30 seconds when your location is changing and every 15 minutes when you're stationary. RadarScope requires 2 kilometer accuracy from the device in order to report your location. If the device provides a location with less accuracy, RadarScope doesn't report it. To use background reporting, RadarScope's location permission must be set to "Always" in the iOS Settings app (iOS Settings > RadarScope > Location > Always). The "Precise Location setting (iOS Settings > RadarScope > Location > Precise Location) must be enabled to receive the necessary accuracy for reporting locations to Spotter Network.
While Using

Add Time…
To help reduce unwanted location reporting, RadarScope automatically shuts it off after a period of time. When toggled on, location reporting has an initial duration of 3 hours. You can extend that duration by selecting "Add Time…" from the menu and selecting the desired interval. You can repeat this step multiple times to get a longer duration. The status item at the top of the menu indicates when location reporting will expire.
Restrict User Locations
To avoid revealing private locations such as homes, schools, and workplaces, RadarScope by has a privacy filter for your saved locations. When enabled, this feature prevents RadarScope from reporting your location to Spotter Network when you are within 3 miles of one of the locations in your saved locations list. This privacy filter is enabled by default. Select this menu item to turn it off.
Stop Reporting
Select this item to stop reporting your location to Spotter Network. Stopping reporting resets the reporting duration to 3 hours, and re-enables the priavcy filter, so those options will have to be changed again the next time you start location reporting.
Status
The toolbar location button icon and color indicate Spotter Network reporting status. When background location reporting is enabled, the icon changes to indicate it. When location reporting is enabled, the icon color changes to orange. When an error occurs or the privacy filter is invoked, the icon color changes to red. At any point, you can view the status of the most recent location reporting attempt in the menu (long press on toolbar location button). Tapping the status item at the bottom of the menu gives you the option to pull up a log of recent reporting activity for troubleshooting purposes.
