KOMPSAT-3A was developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute to ensure data continuity in the visible wavelengths and add infrared capabilities. The Advanced Earth Imaging Sensor System installed on the satellite covers the visible wavelengths to acquire full-color imagery plus an infrared channel. A 15-Kilometer ground swath is covered by the satellite with a panchromatic imagery resolution of 0.55 meters and a multispectral resolution around 2.2 meters.
