39428 - DELFI-N3XT

Delfi-n3Xt is a 3U CubeSat of Technical University Delft, Netherlands Antilles, which implements substantial advances in one subsystem with respect to Delfi-C, and allows technology demonstration of 2 payloads from external partners from 2012 onwards. The mission is broken down into the three major objectives of the Delfi Space Program: education, technology demonstration (a.k.a. payloads) and nanosatellite bus advancement.

The subsystem which has advanced substantially is the Attitude Determination and Control subsystem. While Delfi-C had only a passive magnetic stabilization mechanism, Delfi-n3Xt is equipped with a full three-axis determination and control system. All other subsystems have advanced as well in performance and reliability.

There are three external partners with payloads onboard Delfi-n3Xt: TNO, ISIS and SystematIC. Delfi-n3Xt has been ready for launch since early 2013.
