38340 - HORYU 2

Horyu 2 was launched from Tanegashima on 17 May 2012 at 16:39 UT by an H-2A rocket. It weighed approximately 7.1 kg. Horyu 2 is a microsatellite developed by the students of Kyushu Institute of Technology. It was dedicated to the High Voltage Technology Demonstration Satellite Program. Its mission objective is to test an experimental high-voltage solar array system and observe spacecraft charging effects caused by it. The satellite was placed in a 680 km orbit inclined 98.2 degrees where it will operate for about one year.
