37933 - ASIASAT 7

AsiaSat 7, a Chinese communications satellite, was launched from Baikonur on 25 November 2011 at 19:10 UT. The craft weighed 3813 kg and was launched by a Proton M rocket. AsiaSat 7 provides satellite capacity for television broadcast and VSAT Network services across the Asia-Pacific Region. The satellite is parked 22,300 miles over the equator at 105.5 degrees E longitude. The satellite carries 28 C-band and 17 Ku-band transponders as well as a Ka-band payload. It also offers 3 Ku-band beams with intra beam switching capability and a steerable Ku beam. AsiaSat 7 replaced the AsiaSat 3S spacecraft. It has an expected mission life of 15 years.
