37779 - PAKSAT-1R

Paksat 1R, a Pakistani communication satellite, was launched from Xichang on 11 August 2011 at 16:15 UT by a Long March 3B/E rocket. The craft weighed approximately 5200 kg and replaced the aging Paksat 1. Paksat 1R will provide communications and broadcasting services to Pakistan and neighboring regions for at least 15 years. The satellite carries 18 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders and is stationed at 38 degrees E longitude.
