SES-7 was launched on a Proton M rocket with a Breeze M upper stage from Baikonur at 00:57 UT on 16 May 2009. This geosynchronous communications satellite is positioned at 108 degrees E longitude and will serve customers in Indonesia, India, Taiwan and the Philippines. Protostar 2 carries 13 S-band and 27 Ku-band transponders for television and Internet access.
