NSS 9, built by Orbital Sciences Corporation for SES New Skies, carries 64 C-band transponders and serves customers on the Pacific rim from 177 degrees W longitude in geosynchronous orbit. The satellite was launched 11 February 2009 at 22:09 UT on an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from Kourou.
