Star One C2 is a Brazilian geostationary communications satellite that was launched by an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from Kourou at 22:17 UT on 18 April 2008. The 4.1 tonne (with fuel) craft carries a total of 45 transponders in C-, Ku-, and X-bands to provide direct-to-home (DTH) TV and telephony for Brazil and Mexico after parking over 65 degrees W longitude.
