KOMPSAT-2, also known as ARIRANG 2 EO, is a South Korean (KARI) remote-sensing craft that was launched by a Rokot rocket (a modified ICBM, SS-19) from Plesetsk at 07:05 UT on 2006 July 28. The 800-kg craft carries imaging systems to yield high-resolution, multispectral images of Earth's surface.
The initial orbital parameters were period 98.6 min, apogee 680.9 km, perigee 656.3 km, and inclination 98.1 deg.
