TELKOM 2 is an American geostationary communications satellite that was launched by an Ariane-5 ECA rocket from Kourou at 23:46 UT on 16 November 2005. The six tonne, 12.3 kW satellite carries 48 Ka-band transponders to provide high-speed, high-definition video and internet services to DIRECTV customers in North America after parking over 99 degrees W longitude.
