Inmarsat 4-F1 is a geostationary communications satellite of the international INMARSAT consortium, that was launched by an Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral at 21:42 UT on 11 March 2005. The 5.95 tonne satellite provides direct-to-home, high-speed digital communications to much of Europe, Asia and Africa via 200 spot beams in C- and L-bands after parking over 64 degrees E longitude.
