Sinosat 1 was launched from the Xichang space conplex aboard a Long March 3B rocket. It was a Chinese geosynchronous communications spacecraft that carried 24 C-band and 14 Ku-band transponders to provide voice and video communications to the Asia-Pacific region after parking at 110.5 degrees E.
