China Star 1 was a geosynchronous communications satellites launched by the People's Republic of China from the Xichang Launch Center by a Long March 3B rocket. The spacecraft carried 24 C-band and 24 Ku-band transponders to provide voice and video communications throughout China and neighboring countries, after parking at 87.5 degrees E longitude.
