Dummy S1 is one of two dummies simulating IRIDIUM spacecraft. They were launched by a (newly developed) Long March 2-3 rocket from the new Taiyuan launch center. The goal was to offer the Long March 2-3 as a potential carrier for future launches of IRIDIUMs.
