APSTAR A1 was an Asian-Pacific geostationary communications spacecraft launched by a Long March 3 booster from the Xichang launch center in the People's Republic of China. Weighing 1.4 tons, it carried 24 C-band transponders and will be parked at 131 degrees E longitude between the Japanese CS 3A spacecraft at 132 degrees and the Russian RIMSAT spacecraft at 130 degrees.
