22653 - ASTRA 1C

Astra 1C was a Luxembourg geostationary communications spacecraft launched by an Ariane 4 rocket from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana. It joined its two predecessors, 1A and 1B, at 19.2 degrees E longitude. It had the capacity of 16 transponders that catered for 48 channels, all became operational by August 1993. It's design life was 15 years.
