Try to get the employer to agree on minor points so they can get ready for the major decision while feeling less pressured. Little decisions lead to big decisions.
Example:
In salary negotiations you ask:
- “If we did agree on this, would I be able to give my employer two weeks notice?”
- “Would I be on the company’s complete benefit package the first month?"
- “How would you make the announcement about me coming on board with you?”
- “Regarding my moving expenses would you pay the mover directly or would you reimburse me?”
