When you sense resistance from the employer in making a decision, offer to make their decision subject to you making the grade on other factors. Of course, you should pick factors that you know you can ace.
Example:
You might say, “Obviously, you’ll want me to pass your language skills test before you make a final decision. Why don’t we agree that you’ll hire me subject to me passing the test?”
It doesn’t sound to the employer as if they’re making as big a decision as they really are. In reality, or course, you know that you can ace their test.
