Bear in mind interviewers want to learn three things about you:
- That you can solve their problem by handling the job opening they have to fill.
Strategy: find out all you can about the specific job opening and what you would be doing for the company. Tailor your approach to that opportunity, but also leave open the possibility of filling another job opening within the company.
- That you have leadership skills and can inspire and motivate people to work harder and accomplish more.
Strategy: tell a relevant story about the time you took over in a critical situation and became the company hero with your initiative, drive, creativity, and daring leadership skills.
- That you will fit their corporate culture.
Strategy: be sure that you treat everyone you’ll meet at the new company as if they are the most important person you’ll meet that day.
