Privacy policy

Data protection is of a high priority for Alexander Clauss. It is therefore possible to use my apps without providing any personal data. When using certain functions, however, it may be necessary to process personal data. However, the data will not leave the app unless the user explicitly requests this themselves. Any access to personal data is also only possible with the explicit consent of the user.

The processing of personal data is always carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and in accordance with the applicable country-specific data protection regulations. By means of this data protection declaration, I would like to inform about the type, scope and purpose of the personal data collected, used and processed.

The personal data that is being processed

The App itself does not ask for and does not process any personal data in its default configuration. But certain features can process personal data, when used; in this case the user must explicitly initiate the data processing himself/herself, so nothing is processed if the user does not give his or her permission.

Web sites

The app (a web browser) is used to display web pages. Web pages themselves also collect and process personal data. The websites themselves are responsible for this data collection, so please consult the privacy policies of these websites if necessary.

Password Managers

iCab Mobile can store login passwords for websites. These passwords are stored securely and encrypted in the iOS “keychain”. The iOS is responsible for secure storage in the keychain. The iOS stores the keychain either exclusively on the device or, at the explicit request of the user, also in the iCloud (for synchronization with other devices). If users do not agree to passwords leaving the device, they may not use the iOS feature for saving the keychain in the iClound or may not save any passwords in iCab Mobile.

Alternatively, iCab Mobile can also save passwords in external password manager apps (e.g. 1Password, LastPass, etc.). This is done exclusively by explicit instruction from the user. When storing passwords in external password manager apps, these apps are responsible for the correct storage of passwords. Therefore, please consult the privacy policy of the relevant apps if necessary.

External Services

iCab Mobile can use various external services, such as Instapaper, Pocket, Dropbox, iCloud, Firefox Sync. The use of these services must be explicitly activated by the user. They are all deactivated by default. If the user decides to use these services, these services may collect and process the user's personal data. Therefore, please consult the privacy policy of the relevant services if necessary.

External Apps

iCab Mobile can also transfer data (such as settings, downloads, filters, bookmarks, etc.) to other apps, e.g. to create backups and security copies, or to process the data there. However, this must always be explicitly initiated by the user. By default, no data is transferred to other apps. Therefore, please consult the privacy policy of the relevant apps if necessary.

Photos

The app can access photos from the device's photo library at the explicit request and with the permission of the user if the user wants to upload these photos to an Internet service via the upload function of a website. The photos are requested exclusively for the stated purpose and are not stored in the app or passed on to other parties.

Deleting the Data

All data saved by the app can be deleted by the user at any time. It offers suitable options for this in the settings. Deleting the app itself automatically deletes all data stored in the app.

If the user has transferred data to external services or apps, the user must use the deletion functions of these services and apps to delete the data. iCab Mobile cannot be held responsible for this, as no data is passed on without explicit action by the user.
