Routes of Exposure: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion. Inhalation Risk: A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered. Effects of Short-Term Exposure: The substance is severely irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract . The substance is severely irritating to gastrointestinal tract . Inhalation of aerosol may cause lung oedema (see Notes). Exposure far above the OEL may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. Effects of Long-Term or Repeated Exposure: The substance may have effects on the kidneys and lungs , resulting in kidney impairment and tissue lesions . This substance is carcinogenic to humans.
