Training Requirements
The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires General Awareness & Familiarization Training for all hazmat employees. Hazmat training is required within 90-days for new employees; it must be repeated every three years and periodically as rules change.

This App is designed to show you how to recognize and identify hazardous materials based on the labels, placards, shipping descriptions and other communication standards contained in the Hazardous Materials Regulations.

This training will familiarize you with DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations and satisfies the requirements of the DOT General Awareness Standard - 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H.

It contains six modules with training in:

• the Hazardous Materials Table (HMT);
• Hazard Classes;
• Packaging;
• Marking, Labeling, and Placarding;
• Shipping Papers;
• and Incident Reporting.

This self-paced interactive tutorial presentation for individual instruction takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
