Syncing with Apple Health App

GymGoal can only sync with Health when it has permissions to read and write Health data. These permissions can only be granted in Health app (Health > Sources > GymGoal).

There's also a complimentary option in GymGoal > Settings. When it is turned off, GymGoal will not sync with Health even when it has all necessary permissions.

GymGoal automatically syncs the last 30 days of the following data:

When you enter this data in GymGoal, it also appears in Health. If any app or device sends this data to Health, it also appears in GymGoal's history tables and graphs. GymGoal syncs only your file #1. Burned calories are entered in GymGoal when logging cardio workouts. GymGoal does not read calories from Health.

If you want to change the synced data within the last 30 days period, you should do this in the app that was used to enter this data. For example, if you enter your body weight in GymGoal and want to correct it, you should correct it in GymGoal, not in Health. Once it is corrected in GymGoal, the new value will be automatically sent to Health. If you first enter your body weight in GymGoal, but change it in Health, GymGoal will overwrite your change and restore the original value next time it syncs with Health.

Once the data is outside the 30 days period, GymGoal does not sync it. If you need to edit this data, you should do it manually both in GymGoal and Health.

Body Fat Percent: GymGoal offers several methods for calculating body fat percentage. It automatically calculates the average of the methods that you used. This average value is sent to Health. If another app saves body fat percentage in Health, this value is copied to GymGoal into the method "Manual entry".
