How to use GymGoal
You will get the most out of GymGoal if you use Workout Routines and the Schedule.
A Routine is a template, a list of exercises that you plan to do during your workout. Your actual workout may be different from your routine. When you work out, you may skip or replace or add some exercises. Schedule defines your workout cycle. For example you work out your upper body on Mondays, lower body on Wednesdays, you do stretches and some jogging on Thursdays, and you repeat this every week - this is your "schedule". More info

What is the difference between a routine and a schedule?
You may have several workout routines. For example: a high-intensity routine, a low-intensity one, a mass building routine, a fat burning one. You may rotate your routines every 2 months, or you may use the same routine but move your workouts from Monday, Wednesday and Friday to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in the schedule. That's why GymGoal keeps routines separate from the schedule.

New in v.6.8.0
- When you log a bodyweight exercise (for example chin-ups), GymGoal automatically counts your body weight as the lifted weight. In some exercises (for example push-ups) only a part of your bodyweight is counted. In assisted-weight exercises (for example assisted chin-ups) the machine weight is automatically subtracted from your bodyweight. All this is possible with your custom exercises as well.
- In some exercises you lift two weights (for example two dumbbells). Now you need to record only one weight, and GymGoal will automatically multiply it by two to correctly calculate 1RM, Total Weight Lifted and other stats. This is adjustable in custom exercises.
- Any set can be marked as: warm-up, regular, to-failure, drop-set. Warm-up sets are excluded from stats. Additionally any set can be marked with one of eight colors.
- You can delete any set, not just the last one. You can add a set to any position, not just to the end of the list.
- You can log the actual One Rep Max for every exercise.
- The workout results table has two more columns: % of 1RM, and % of Total Weight Lifted. Your actual 1RM is used, if you record it, otherwise GymGoal uses the best calculated 1RM for the last 90 days.
- History has one more report - Professional monitoring of volume load and training intensities.
New in v.6.7.6
- You can attach animated gifs to exercises.
New in v.6.7.4
- You can select what numbers to track for each custom exercise. For example, if you lift the weight and hold it for as long as possible, you can track weight and duration. If you throw something as far as possible, you can track weight and distance, or just distance.
- Added a new parameter for tracking: angle.
- Workout day history shows the total weight lifted by each target muscle.
