1/ Open Video Compressor

To begin, open the Video Compressor from the Home Screen. If you don't see it, press the Down Arrow at the bottom of the screen to expand the video tools section.

2/ Select Video(s) for Compression

Firstly, the Compressor Tool requires you to select the video you want to adjust before making any changes. You can import videos from the app's local storage, Photo Gallery, or iOS Files App by pressing "My Files", "Photo", or "Files" respectively. Keep in mind that you can also select multiple videos for compression.

3/ Compression Configuration

The most important factor in video compression is the Bitrate. If your videos are recorded by an iPhone or iPad camera, they will have an exceptionally high bitrate, which results in larger file sizes. The Compressor Tool will automatically optimize the bitrate for your selected video, aiming to be around 55 to 75% of the inputted bitrate. While you can adjust it manually, please remember that setting the bitrate too low will lead to compression artifacts and result in low-quality videos.

Another option you can change is the Video Resolution. However, we do not recommend this, especially for modern devices with high-resolution screens. Reducing video resolution is not a good long-term saving option. Additionally, you can change the Video Audio Codec and file format, but it's recommended to leave them as DEFAULT unless you have a deep understanding of video and audio encoding.

4/ Demo in 3 5 7 Seconds

If you'd like to assess the video quality before compression, please select the 'Demo' option for 3, 5, or 7 seconds. The app will swiftly compress a segment of the video, allowing for a comparison between the pre and post-compression versions.

⚠ Audio Only Compression

Lastly, if you import audio files, only the bitrate can be adjusted, and it will directly impact the audio quality.
