Player screen
The player screen contains a number of useful controls. At the bottom of the screen you'll find the regular Play/Stop and Rewind buttons as well as a Cue slider.
The Cue slider above the transport controls is used to fast forward/rewind the music for easier positioning.
Tapping the left and right arrow buttons will change the current position by a second, keeping the finger down will change the position continuously. Note that you can only forward/rewind between the selected start and end points.
It's possible to automatically rewind a bit whenever the Stop button is tapped (Settings - Rewind on Stop).

Slider behavior
Since the screen is small it can sometimes be difficult to set an exact value using the sliders. You can adjust the precision when dragging a slider by sliding your finger up or down. The precision increases the farther up or down you slide your finger.
If you tap a slider button and then move your finger up or down a little bit faster than normal, no change will take place until the movement has stopped. You can now edit the previously set value with a very good precision.
You set the default values for speed, pitch and mix by moving the sliders to the middle. You can also "double tap" on any of those sliders to set them to the center position.

Speed slider
The slider labeled "Speed" lets you adjusts the speed between 25% (1/4 of original speed) and 200% (double speed).
You may also display the speed as BPM (Beats Per Minute). Tap one of the labels on either side of the speed slider. This will open up a view where you can tap along the music to set the BPM value for the current song.
It's possible to disable audio processing all together (Settings - Audio Processing). If so, the software will act as a regular audio player but with looping capabilities.

Pitch slider
The slider labeled "Pitch" adjusts the pitch i.e. the tuning and transposition. The default setting is to "snap" to semitones only but if you slide your finger up or down you may adjust in cents (1/100 of a semitone) as well. To adjust the tuning, move the slider by dragging the slider. As an example: to change the key from C to D, raise the pitch by two semitones. The maximum pitch change range is +/- 12 semitones.

Mix slider
The slider labeled Mix adjusts what channel or mix of channels you are listening to. Normally you use both channels - center position. However, sometimes the instrument you are transcribing is more prominent in one or the other of the channels. You may then choose to listen to only the left, only the right or any mix of the channels you like. The music is always sent to both the left and right channels of your headphones.

Looping
If you enable the "Loop" switch, the current song will loop between the set loop points. You can enter new loop positions by moving the sliders or by tapping the "Set" buttons located to the right of the corresponding slider.
The "Set" buttons are especially useful while the audio is playing through. If the set loop points are not accurate enough you can "trim" them to be more exact. By tapping AND holding down the "Set" buttons for a short moment, a "Trim Loops" view will appear which lets you fine adjust the loop points.
You can slide the set loop forwards or backwards with the same amount as the current loop length by tapping the left/right arrow buttons.
You can half or double the loop length by tapping the "1/2" and "x2" buttons.
Tapping the "Manage Loops" button to the right of the "Loop" switch allows you to name and store as many loops as you want and then recall any of them at a later time. Here you also rename, reorder and delete loops.
Loop settings will automatically sync between devices using iCloud.

Notes
Tapping the "Notes" button at the upper right corner will open a view where you can add comments for each song you work on.

Toolbar
The current loop settings is displayed in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (iPhone only).

Player Settings
Tapping the "Settings" button on the toolbar at the bottom right of the screen allows you to change certain player settings.

• You may enable/disable the audio processing and select whether to slow down in stereo or mono. Stereo processing requires more processor usage and may drain the battery faster, mono has slightly better quality.

• You may select a lower audio quality setting which allows for longer battery life or if using newer devices you may select a higher quality setting for best sound quality.

• Tapping the "EQ" (equalizer) setting lets you select between a number of presets to control the tone of the music. There is also an adjustable EQ that you can edit to your own liking. The adjustable EQ contains a volume control that adjusts the playback volume independently of the hardware volume button.

• You may choose to increase the tempo or change the pitch after a specified number of loops. Increment will continue for the entered number of "times", then restart at the original speed/pitch.

• You may set the number of loops to repeat before stopping or set it to loop continuously.

• You may set a value for "Rewind on Stop" which will make the player rewind a tiny bit whenever you tap the "Stop" button.

• "Forward/Rewind - First Touch" lets you select how many seconds to "jump" when you tap the forward or rewind buttons.

• "Forward/Rewind May Extend Loop" will extend the loop when you tap the forward or rewind buttons and the new position is outside of the set loop.

• You may "Delay Playback" of a track between 1 and 30 seconds.

• Select what will happen when playback reaches the loop end point - "Wait Between Loops".

  • Immediately restart playback from the loop start point.

  • Wait a specified number of seconds before restarting the loop.

  • Wait the same amount of time as the current loop length.

• "Mix With Other Audio" - Enabling this setting allows Amazing Slow Downer to playback audio simultaneously with other apps. This is useful if you use virtual guitar amp applications such as Amplitube, iRig etc. First start Amazing Slow Downer, then the other app since the other app probably will change some settings needed for minimal latency. You can adjust the playback volume by using the adjustable EQ.

Finally you may set the behavior for the sliders:

• "Tap Anywhere" lets you jump to a new value by tapping anywhere on a slider.

• "Nudge Value" lets you decrease or increase the value by tapping to the left or right of the slider thumb.

• "Limit Speed/Pitch Range" allows for easier and more exact settings if you don't need much speed or pitch change.

Please take a look in the "Settings" view, there may be more options than described above. Note that the file selection views has its own settings.
